JCB Fastrac 4000 Series – Public UK Working Debut 2014

It’s almost hard to believe that more than 10 years have passed since JCB introduced its striking Fastrac 4000 series that has evolved significantly since it was first unveiled at Agritechnica in November 2013.

The three model 4000 series replaced the 2000 range and provided operators with a significantly larger new cab and more horse power matched to JCB’s sophisticated four-wheel steering, braking and suspension systems.

The original 4000 series comprised the 4160 (160hp – 175hp max), 4190 (189hp – 208hp max), and the flagship 4220 (220hp – 235hp max). All three models were powered by 6.6l six-cylinder turbocharged AGCO Power engines and equipped with a continuously variable transmission. I was lucky enough to photograph the 4190 make its public working debut in the UK at Cereals in June 2014 near Duxford.
