Three Counties Ploughing Match – Mick Chappell
In between compiling coverage from LAMMA 2025 and working on several other exciting projects for Farm Machinery Journal I was able to escape my office and attend my first ploughing match of the year near Retford last weekend.
The match was organised by the Three Counties Ploughing Federation and attracted more than 60 entries. One of those was three-time British National Reversible Ploughing Champion Mick Chappell who was taking part with his smart 2005 McCormick CX105 and highly modified Kverneland two furrow reversible match plough.
This year’s European Reversible Ploughing Championships, that Mick will be a part of, take place on March 1st and 2nd at Upper Morton near Retford in Nottinghamshire, and are being organised by The Society of Ploughmen.
