Pontefract Young Farmers Dynamometer Day
On February 14th Pontefract Young Farmers held a charity dynamometer day that raised £465 for club funds and their chosen charity, Yellow Wellies Farm Safety Foundation. The event was very kindly hosted by the Laybourn family, whilst machinery dealers Russells and Peacock & Binnington supplied and ran the dynamometers.
A fantastic array of modern and modern classic tractors took part including Jack Crabtree and Dan Swires 2008 JCB Fastrac 2170 and 2009 John Deere 6930 Premium that both produced in excess of 200hp at the P.T.O shaft. The Copley family brought along several tractors from their mixed fleet including an unusual Massey Ferguson 3SP.85 and a 2024 New Holland T6.180. The Wilsher family attended with their immaculate John Deere 6155R that delivered 179.3hp.
Some of the tractors that took part will be making further appearances in Farm Machinery Journal later this year.
