Sheepy and District Ploughing Association Dynamometer Day
Sheepy and District Ploughing Association held their dynamometer day on March 1st. The event raised a fantastic £1,250 for the Yellow Wellies Farm Safety Foundation, with competitors representing England at the European and World Ploughing Championships that will be held in Belgium, Switzerland and Croatia later this year.
The event was hosted by farmers and agricultural contractors Trivitt and Sons near Nuneaton, whilst two dynamometers were very kindly supplied and run by T H White Agriculture’s Ed Dyke and JCB Agriculture’s Thomas Sutton.
Modern tractors putting in strong performances included a pre-production JCB Fastrac 6300 that made nearly 305hp at the shaft, whilst the Brandreth family’s Fendt 942 Vario produced 382hp. However, the best performance of the day belonged to the event host’s 2016 Case IH Magnum Rowtrac 380 CVX that generated 386hp at the shaft and a massive 3098lbf-ft of torque!
