England Team Announced for 2026 European Reversible Ploughing Championship
Thomas Sutton, from Nuneaton in Warwickshire and Jonathan Hopkins, from Doncaster in South Yorkshire, will represent England at this year’s European Reversible Ploughing Championship that takes place at Schaffhausen in Switzerland on August 22nd and 23rd.
This will be the second time that Thomas has represented England at the European Championships. He made his debut in 2024 at Mamirolle in France, where he underlined his talent by claiming a top ten place. Jonathan Hopkins will also be competing in the European Championships for a second time. He first represented England in 2023 at Jebjerg in Denmark.
Thomas uses a fully restored Fendt Farmer 309 LS and a highly modified Kverneland two furrow reversible match plough that was previously used at the European Championships by Edward Griffin, that has undergone several recent upgrades. Jonathan meanwhile uses a similar Kverneland match plough yoked to a 1999 Massey Ferguson 6245.
