JCB Loadall 538-60 Agri Pro

Earlier this year I photographed JCB’s impressive Loadall 538-60 Agri Pro for the cover story of Farm Machinery Journal’s Handling Special that appeared in the April issue. The 538-60 received a whole host of upgrades just before Christmas, including a revised 50kph rated DualTech VT hybrid transmission. FMJ Editor Tom Laight test drove the rapid handler on JCB Loadall customer Simon Kirkham’s dairy farm in the West Midlands.

The Loadall 538-60 Agri Pro is powered by JCB’s own 4.8lit, four cylinder turbocharged, Stage V DieselMax 448 engine that produces up to 173hp and 690Nm of torque. The 538-60 also benefits from JCB’s Q-Fit headstock, wider and heavier duty SD80 axle, and a pickup hitch rated to 32 tonnes.
