Kuhn Smart Soil Technology
Kuhn are the latest manufacturer to incorporate a fully automated ISOBUS compatible control system on its cultivation kit that it calls Smart Soil Technology. It was launched by the French manufacturer last year and is currently available in Europe on its trailed 6m and 7.5m Optimer 6000 and 7500 hydraulic folding disc cultivators.
The Smart Soil Technology system scooped a Technical Innovation award when it was previewed at the 2024 EIMA Show held in Bologna last November. It then won a prestigious Gold Award for Arable Establishment Innovation at this year’s LAMMA Show held at the NEC in January where the system was displayed for the first time in the UK on Kuhn’s Optima 6000 XL.
On March 26th the same machine made its public UK working debut at a demonstration day near Scarborough in North Yorkshire organised by dealer Hardwick Agricultural Engineers Ltd and Kuhn Farm Machinery UK Ltd. It was paired with a 246hp Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 7250 TTV Warrior and generated a huge amount of interest.
